How much is half a scoop of protein powder? I don't use chocolate regularly, so I usually buy the Tera's Whey single serving pouches. And could I substitute almond milk with skim milk and vanilla extract? Sorry for ask of the questions. I feel like whenever I attempt to make a delicious protein drink or dessert, it never turns out for me :-(
ReplyDeleteL. Montca measured her protein scoop and said about 1.5 was 1/2 of her scoop, but I would also look on your package. Whatever it says is the serving size, just half it. If it's the entire package, you could separate it into two measuring cups and then save the other in an airtight class container.
DeleteMmm...jst made this and couldn't even wait for it to go in the fridge and it is Delicious!!! I am glad I doubled up the ingredients so I can have enough "ice treat" for this hot humid day :) .. For Chantal.. I measured my scoop of protein and half a scoop is about 1.5 tbsp. Also i would suggest stick to the vanilla unsweetened almond milk and you get better flavor without the added sugar and don't need vanilla extract ;) it is creamier too
ReplyDeleteThank you! Those are great suggestions and thank you for answering Chantal's question!
DeleteWhat are the macros? So excited for this!
ReplyDeleteWe don't calculate macros since they vary so much but it should be around 20g protein.
DeleteI'm allergic to dairy, will this with so delicious coconut milk yogurt?
ReplyDeleteThat sounds great! I haven't tried it with anything else but let us know how it turns out!
DeleteI just wanna say Thank YOU so much for sharing this recipe! I tried it w vanilla whey protein powder and added 1/4c raspeberries and got myself some berrylicious ice cream! :) won't be missing my nightly haggen daz anymore lol.. will deff try diff fruits for my healthy carbs ;) Thanks again
ReplyDeleteI have stevia packets. How much is a scoop?
ReplyDeleteAssuming you're talking about Truvia... a quarter to half packet should be suffice.
DeleteJust measure to taste.
Awesome recipe!
ReplyDeleteI used to eat a lot of sugar-free snack packs to kill my sweet tooth, but they're full of yucky ingredients.
Here's my take on it, it's a large serving (because I'm a pig):
- 1 cup of greek yogurt
- 1-2 tbsp of vanilla almond milk (or plain unsweetened with a dash of vanilla extract)
- <1 tsp of Truvia (stevia drops work well here, too)
- 1 scoop of whey protein (I use Kaizen Natural Whey, also sweetened with stevia)
- 1-2 tbsp of cocoa powder
The recipe is largely the same, except for one ingredient: cocoa powder. The whey I use isn't very chocolaty, so the cocoa powder brings in the deep chocolate flavor. Cocoa powder is key because it adds antioxidants and flavonoids, and adds minimal calories and almost no carbs. (Sidenote: I'm not a carbophobe, I just think carb intake should come from nutrient dense foods like sweet potato and fruit/veg.)
So, for just under 300 calories (again, big serving because I'm a pig), you get 40g of protein, 20g of carbs, and lots of antioxidants.
Compare that to 4 snack packs (yes, 4, oink oink): 260 calories, minimal protein, 35g of carbs, and lots of yuck.
Plus this new pudding is really satiating.
Awesome find! All the best with your blog!
