Clean Eat Recipe :: Sweet & Spicy Sweet Potato Chips

Do you have a problem getting in all of your water for the day?  Make these Sweet & Spicy Sweet Potato Chips & you will not have that problem anymore!  ;-)


Ingredients:
3 sweet potatoes
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp sea salt

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees
2. Cut sweet potatoes into "chips"


3. Add sweet potatoes to a ziploc bag & then add olive oil
4. Toss the bag until chips are covered in olive oil, then add spices & toss until chips are coated with oil & spices


5. Spray sheet with non-stick spray & lay sweet potatoes flat (in one layer) on a baking sheet.


6. Bake for 18-20 minutes (depending on the crispiness you prefer).
7. Flip over chips & bake for another 18-20 minutes (depending on the crispiness you prefer).

    1. Typically we do not peel the potatoes, we just slice and off we go!

    1. Jamie - the nutritional value would be the same for a baked sweet potato depending on the weight. Due to the use of spices, the only thing that may vary is the sodium content.

  5. These are amazing! Might just be my new favorite snack! I have made something very similiar in the past but with red potatoes. I love the added flavor(and the added nutrition!)that the sweet potatoes bring to this tasty snack! ~Ashley

  6. How should they be stored? Do you have to store them in the fridge and how long do they usually last? Besides them being gobbled up, I mean.:)

    1. I usually store ours in the fridge for about 3 days (they usually don't last much longer than that in our house)!

  8. So so soooo nummy!! But I agree with the above question...how do you store them?! I'm worried they are going to get soggy!

    1. I usually store ours in the fridge for about 3 days (they usually don't last much longer than that in our house)! They seem to be fine - they don't really get soggy for me but I only make a few days worth at a time! :-)

  9. Do these have that sweet taste like normal sweet potatoes...... I miss potatoes....but I just don't like sweet potato taste :-(
